THE PATTERNS
The male patterns are for a jacket in standard size Large (40) and men’s trousers with a 36-inch waist. The female dress is standard Size 12. Areas where the pattern can be expanded or reduced are clearly indicated where necessary. Length adjustments can, of course, be made as needed.
Please note that these are not the computer-generated patterns commonly sold in the market. Our patterns are hand-drawn and traced directly from authentic streekdracht garments. Because they are based on real traditional clothing, they reflect the character of the garments. Some aspects are simplified, such as the lack of additional hand-stitched lining pieces. Instead, there are partial inner parts, to which a lining can be attached if you wish to do so. Almost everything can be done with a sewing machine.
We do expect that customers purchasing our hand-drawn patterns have some sewing experience and basic pattern knowledge. While modest guidance is often provided on where to make adjustments, you should be able to determine where to tighten or loosen the garment to achieve the desired fit.
